All of our wooden fruit & salad bowls and modern style wooden pepper mills are hand turned on a wood lathe soon after the tree has fallen then they are slowly & carefully dried from 6 months to over a year to prevent cracking. Once the wooden salad bowls are completely dried they will be "out of round" and kind of rough so they get placed back on the wood lathe for the final turning and sanding then finished with several coats of hempseed oil. All of our wood is gathered from local trees that have already been fallen.
