My wooden bowl Lathe 1_edited.jpg

The journey of becoming a woodturner

After working as an engineer in the SF Bay Area for a few high tech companies for over 25 years I have decided to leave Sunnyvale CA and move our family to Prescott AZ to start www.mywoodenbowl.com. It was a very difficult decision to leave Apple as a surface finish engineer to start my wood turning business. I now enjoy waking up everyday crafting wooden bowls and wood salt and pepper grinders.

Growing up I have always enjoyed wood working but didn't try woodturning until I was in my mid 20's where I purchase a Vicmarc VL300 lathe. Once I started turning wood I focused all my time and energy learning how to turn wooden bowls. I have been crafting wooden bowls as a hobby for about 20 years and finally turned it into a business.

I hope that all my customers appreciate these wooden products as much as I enjoyed crafting them. I feel that the wood shows its true beauty when crafted correctly and I am always trying to improve my skills each and everyday.
